CONCERT BENEFITING THE KEITH BLACKLEY TRUST
Jim's oldest son, Keith Blackley, is currently in palliative care at Bridgepoint Health Centre in Toronto, Canada. Four months ago he suffered a seizure at home and was rushed to the hospital. A CT scan revealed a massive brain tumor. The tumor, from the Glioblastoma family, is malignant and terminal. His spirits are high and he continues to conduct himself with dignity.
The Toronto Jazz Community has come forward to organize an annual concert to support the newly established Keith Blackley Trust. This trust will not only care for Keith's children but, in the future, young musicians with the endowment of scholarships to pursue education and other jazz-related projects.
Please come support this event on May 18th, 2008. A brief list of artists appearing are as follows: Terry Clarke, Michael Stuart, Bruce Cassidy, Don Vickery, Duncan Hopkins, Gary Benson, Frank Wright, David Occhipinti, Mike Murley, Archie Alleyne, Robi Botos, Artie Roth, Lorne Lofsky and Pat LaBarbera.
